It absolutely is. My digust for this charade has nothing to do with Kavanaugh, my feelings toward whom range from indifferent to uncomfortable. My disgust has everything to do with the complete farce of justice they’re staging.
- First he’s announced as the nominee and everyone starts breathlessly reporting how women are going to be slaughtered in the streets and countless people will be left sick and dying as a result.
- Then they try to nail him on something bad to disqualify the nomination but he’s such a fucking Boy Scout that the worst they can find are such heinous crimes as going to baseball games.
- Then when that doesn’t work at the last minute oh lookee here a sexual assault allegation we were sitting on for months!
- Then when the bottom starts to fall out of that and the alleged victim doesn’t even want to testify, here come a few more vague, unsubstantiated claims about big bad sex predator Brett Kavanaugh.
- Then there’s the testimony of his first alleged victim which is full of emotion from a woman who may very well have been assaulted, but still has no proof that it was Kavanaugh who did it. And the second accuser is so unure it was him she needs to ask her friends for clarification and take five days to “properly assess her memory“.
- Now the whole nomination process has been derailed with “evidence“ that amounts to little more than high school gossip and the same Democrats who wailed and moaned about the pointlessness of the FBI investigation of Hillary, actually sit with a straight face and insist that the FBI needs to “investigate” something it has zero jurisdiction over and zero ability to come to any definite conclusions.
It’s a farce. A mockery. Even some liberals are seeing right through it. We are establishing the terrifying precedent that any SCOTUS nomination from any president can be effectively torpedoed by a random accusation without a shred of actual proof. This is nothing short of an utter embarrassment.
