(2/2) sometimes there are actual demonic spirits involved, like where my dad grew up in rural Argentina (he had neighbours who cursed other people’s crops and chickens and stuff, it was nasty), or other places in S. America where voodoo is practice. and sometimes it is just a false empty practice. in either case, it’s bad for Christians bc it’s relying on powers (real or imagined) other than God and the common sense He gave us to manipulate our environment and achieve means we want.
