So the women purposely lying to get what they want don’t deserve consequences? It’s called innocent until proven guilty and even the accused should be given the chance.

I fully support this tweet provided the accuser can be shown to have malicious intent, I’d even add civil lawsuits for defamation into the mix.

Same for any falsely reported crime where it’s aimed at a person or persons like hate crimes that are made up.

When people falsely call 911 they get fined for it and in some cases arrested for misuse. 

If someone falsely pulls a fire alarm they get arrested and fined.

If someone falsely yells fire in a crowded area they can get fined and arrested. 

It shouldn’t be any different for false accusations of rape. The fact that you can be fined or arrested never stops someone from calling 911, pulling a fire alarm, or yelling fire when there is one. 

It isn’t about “letting men abuse them freely” minus the fact that it blatantly ignores victims of female rapists and male victims of rape, it’s about making it illegal to falsely report a crime just like any other. It takes up and drains resources that could be used to help an actual rape victim as opposed to going on a wild goose chase for a rapist that doesn’t exist.

not to mention, false rape accusations ruin the lives of the accused, and i know a few even went so far as to commit suicide.

and yet, while the accused have to deal with the fact that people see them as a rapist(even after it’s proven false) and all the other shit that comes with being accused of rape, the accuser faces no repercussions for their actions. it shouldn’t be this way.
