So long as obesity stats are determined by BMI, they will always be overinflated in order to scare people into dieting
The “obesity crisis” isn’t real. They literally lowered the “overweight” BMI from 27 to 25 JUST so we think there’s more fat people and that it’s going to destroy us unless we pay $29/month to deny our hunger cues. And even if there were more fat people, so what? There’s more people, period. Body diversity is perfectly normal and we shouldn’t be afraid of that and we shouldn’t be treating bodies bigger than ours with disrespect. And we shouldn’t treat other body types like a crisis.
This might actually be peak stupidity for fat activism, which is kind of an achievement in a field crowded with people trying their damnedest for that.
Fat is fat. Just because our scientific knowledge of obesity changed, did not make fat people any less fat. Your body doesn’t care how you define your body; you’ll still die young as a direct consequence of your obesity.
“you’ll still die young as a direct consequence of your obesity”
there is no evidence to support this statement but go off i guess ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Oh hey @gayharoldfinch , look at this. Google’s your friend, try hanging out with it some more!
are fatphobes incapable of basic comprehension? did you even read the abstract of that study? just like the previous dumbass that tried to support that claim you have failed also lmao. that study doesn’t say anywhere that obesity directly causes premature death ✌️
Fatphobes also don’t understand the concept of “correlation doesn’t equal causation”. They just read the headlines and don’t offer any nuance whatsoever, and still think that you have to be healthy for your body to be worthy of basic respect. They’re not worth my time tbh
honest question: can you provide any empirical evidence that having excessive adipose tissue is not inherently unhealthy? anything with key words / phrases like “no link found” or “no supporting evidence”?
BMI has some flaws but if you’re honestly fucking saying that there’s no health risks in being morbidly obese you are too stupid for words.
friends are not people to drop once you get a boyfriend or girlfriend.
friends are not a phase of childhood that you grow out of once you become an “adult” due to having a romantic relationship.
friends are not empty vessels for you to dump your romantic problems onto.
cultivate your friendships. hold onto them. love them. because if what you have with your partner doesn’t work out, you may not find those friends to go back to.
