Hello! I am not a Catholic, although I would consider my beliefs to be similar to much that the Catholic church believes. With that being said, one of the reasons I have not taken the plunge and attended a mass (is that the right way to say it? A mass?), is because of my confusion surrounding what Catholics believe about purgatory. What is purgatory about, and where in the Bible is it described? Thank you for your time and patience, and have a wonderful day!

No prob! I am not great at explaining the afterlife for some reason (I always get tongue tied about it???) so I will leave some resources here. If others reading this want to jump in with their own info, feel free to do so.

Also, I understand that it may take time to digest, understand, and accept one or more Teachings that you may not agree with or are new to. I was that way about the Perpetual Virginity of Mary. Don’t feel too pressured to form an opinion right away – simply read what you can, pray about it, and let it sit in your mind for as long as needed. πŸ™‚
