highkey if you’re a Christian and you get really defensive or start speaking slander when someone says that politics shouldn’t be an idol in your life that is pique proof that politics are, in fact, an idol in your life

your belief in Christ should rule over and influence your political worldview, not the other way around. also, your belief in Christ should lead you to engage in politics with the fruits of the Spirit; even if you don’t like your leaders, or if you blatantly disagree with another side of the political spectrum, the Bible calls us to pray for and honour those who are different from us and Who God allowed to enter into office, that they may be led by His Spirit… it doesn’t call us to take His place on the judgement seat
