Went grave walking today. Nancy H Williamson doesn’t have a death date on her headstone so I have to assume she never died and is in fact 150 years old.

Interesting. The obvious reason is just because the couple gravestone was made when Willie died so of course Nancy wouldn’t have anything. But how do you just…forget to have the additional date engraved when she does kick the bucket?

It’s possible the family just didn’t think they could afford it. My grandparents have a similar style stone and when my grandfather died (after my grandmother) there was some debate over who was going to pay for the death date to be engraved and one of my uncles was just like “oh well we know when he died“ and the historian in me is screaming “future generations won’t necessarily know we have to document it!”
