Tiny, famished and weak, she had seen them and had approached them without a trace of fear or rejection. Such bravery had impressed them and they had taken her in under their wings, raising her along with the children, like one more of the family.
When she’d grow older, the little one would also learn the language of the wind and the trees, sailing the skies on the backs of her brothers.
Until then, they’d be safe under the caring gaze of the Mother.”
