To the anon who feels tempted to begin practicing witchcraft again, I am in the same exact boat as you. I gave away all of the things I used in my craft, threw out my Book of Shadows and cleansed my room. There are days when I feel the urge to go back because I am not going to lie the craft made me feel safe and powerful but my desire through the Holy Spirit to abide in God’s will keeps me from going back. It is definitely a challenge at times but let 1 John 4:4 be your daily reminder.

strawberry-milktea:

Thank you for sharing your experience, friend. I’m so glad that you have turned away from witchcraft and called on the name of Jesus for forgiveness as well as strength to stand up to temptation.

When it comes to temptation, the enemy always operates by trying to appeal to our flesh and emotions with the lie that sin will somehow fulfill us in some way. The form of sin and the lies he uses to manipulate may vary, but the pattern remains the same. For you, he tries to promote the lie that witchcraft will give you power and safety. For the person who is prone to weakness in sexual sin, he may promote the lie that premarital sex proves one’s worth/desirability and will bring contentment. For the person prone to weakness in alcoholism or drug addiction, the enemy may promote the lie that alcohol or drugs will fix the wounds they’re dealing with and fulfill their desire for healing. No matter what the temptation in question is, the devil always suggests sin as a counterfeit solution that in reality never provides what he claims it will, but instead serves to destroy. The truth is, what our hearts truly long for and will be fulfilled by is a relationship with Christ – and the devil will try all he can to keep us from seeing that.

And the verse you mentioned is definitely a great reminder:“

Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” – 1 John 4:4
