Sometimes i’m really sick of traditional femininity blogs. Some of y’all do good work and i’m all about that but there is a notable tradfem blog saying that woman shouldn’t cut their hair (especially if they’re overweight) and if their overweight need shape wear and like….no.
Honestly short hair can make a woman feel feminine. It did for me because when my hair was long I just threw it up in a ponytail because i hated dealing with it (also not that it matters now that i’m hair covering some days).
Like, there is no one size fits all version of femininity. Saint Joan of Arc and Saint Faustina and Saint Gianna were all so different and yet all were feminine woman who submitted to God. Femininity is not long hair and 50’s style dresses and being artsy.
Femininity is internal. Femininity is kindness and gentleness, it’s nurturing and joyful. Femininity is humility, strength and obedience to God. It’s honesty and modesty and chastity. Femininity is loving, faithful and hopeful.
You can’t find it by wearing long skirts and veils and then berating woman who don’t conform to the subjective standards you set.
You find it by pointing to God and following him.
