Tommy Robinson secretly recorded his interview with Sky news in order to catch them peddling fake news. His plot worked spectacularly. BBC edited it in to fake news, up to changing actual words by muting parts of his statements.

They do it all the time – they defend it by claiming that they only remove things like coughs or thinking-space words (“for sure”, “um”, “ah” etc.) but in practice volumes gets deleted. No interview is reliable unless it is the full unedited rushes. And even then there are still ways to manipulate how someone comes across. (camera angles have a huge impact for example, as does lighting, recording volume and acoustic properties…)
