??????????????? it’s owned by disney so like if you think marvel is inappropriate then so is all of Disney ??
Like why do non-catholics really think catholics can’t like anything that’s secular and see the value in it? Like there’s so much based in Christ, a lot of secular characters are literal “Christ-figures” (literary term). Even if the person that wrote it wasn’t christian, if it comes from western society it’s almost definitely going to be based in Christian thinking.
You’re not putting it above church or God and you’re not saying it’s more important than serving Him? cool doesn’t matter like what you want there is no m*gik being practiced and you’re not worshipping satan no one in the church that matters actually cares what you like or not. If someone makes a whole long post about liking secular stuff being wrong even just enjoying it a little bit then they probably have no theological training and no voice in the Church besides as a layperson, whom can’t give spiritual direction like that.
Please be advised, Catholics are only allowed to watch the 45 films listed on the Vatican’s List of Great Films. All other films are strictly forbidden.
Can I add that even if, for some reason, Marvel movies were a “sin” to enjoy and watch, we should be willing to give it up? Human beings have lived for centuries without films, but never without God. Materialism and love for the world above love for God is very real and Christians need to stop treating sin as something they can toe the line with.
With that said OBVIOUSLY it isn’t a sin or problematic (that would be ridiculous) but the way they worded their ask in the end is pathetic. They aren’t looking for an answer: they are looking for compliance.
