I mean what else are they going to do? You can’t reasonably expect them to hamstring the whole process because somebody comes out of nowhere with an unfounded accusation and then refuses to testify.
Luke anyone else I would like to believe that no one lies about sexual assault, or any assault, but to take any accusation at face value today is ridiculous.
It is, and even if it did happen to request an FBI probe doesn’t make a lot of sense because
A. The statute of limitations has run out and
B. There is zero physical evidence. The best there could be is more he said she said and no real conclusions.
I hate to say it but with the extremely convenient timing of the letter being made public and this insistence on “investigations” yet refusal to testify, it begins to smell a lot like a last ditch attempt to stop Kavanagh. And I don’t say this as a raving fan of his either, I’m just stating the facts. All the ridiculous fear mongering about how him being appointed is going to single-handedly obliterate women’s rights forever coupled with this sudden accusation of sexual assault that conveniently can neither be proven or disproven, it begins to look a little funny.
