Pro-life person: So anyway I think it’s really important that women have access to healthcare resources and effective birth control and sex education. There aren’t enough people talking about the potentially harmful side effects of IUDs or the physical complications with abortion procedures or the lack of access to mental health resources that many postpartum or post-abortion women face. I’ve also donated to these private social programs designed to help women in crisis pregnancies and new mothers who need assistance with things like job training and childcare. It’s very important for the pro-life movement to approach their position in a holistic way that addresses all of these factors and the whole of sexuality and parenthood because the “pork random strangers no commitment or consequences” approach can be seen to be extremely damaging in our society as it helps facilitate the objectification of women as nothing but sex toys stripped of human concerns and often allows unwed/unsupported mothers and their children to slip through the cracks.
