Since reading fanfic isn’t necessary by any definition, I recommend you quit altogether. If fanfiction is ultimately causing you to sin, cut it out of your life. There’s no shame in this. I myself have had to surgically remove things and people from my own life that consistently led me down a bad road.

I have read fanfic for about 7 years, and have been ignoring the sexually explicit works/scenes until very recently. Now, I can’t stop myself from seeking them out. I’ve tried quitting cold turkey, which succeeds for a few months but then I fall back into it. Usually my re-entry starts by reading harmless, non-sexual fics, and then later devolves into reading inappropriate ones. Is there a way I can always keep it PG or should I just quit the fic all together? Thank you!
