The fact that a bunch of angry, British socialists raised thousands of dollars and spent it on a giant balloon so they could have a giant circle jerk instead of, I dunno, donating it to feed or house the needy, really says a lot
It’s all about image. Same with the Women’s March. They won’t actually do anything important. No one pays attention to them if they do. Instead they have to do something to get attention.
Because people think attention matters. Everyone wants to change the world and they forget that it’s enough just to fix their family and their own personal relationships. They forget it’s enough to donate money to an orphan, or lend it to a friend in need. They don’t ACTUALLY have these values built into their character or habits, so when they do get enough power, money, attention, or influence they are unable to bring themselves to do anything meaningful because they couldn’t even do it on the small personal scale.
