alistair theirin is
- freckly
- incredibly smart
- biracial (fiona is neither human nor white and bioware fucked up bad)
- probably a lil chubby
- a person with very strong morals and a surprising amount of self awareness
- capable of looking after himself
- a grey warden who takes pride in what he does
- a survivor of horrific child abuse
alistair theirin is NOT
- white
- a chantry boy
- a helpless idiot manbaby
- as heterosexual as you think
Ive read the book and Fiona is never described as dark skinned, in fact she’s described as pale more times than I could count. I mean being pale doesn’t mean shes white but I dont know why people insist that she and Alistair have been white washed. Also yes Alistair has always been heterosexual.
ok because I’ve seen a few tags wondering about this and a few replies I’m just gonna reply to this one:
I’ve been to Tokyo once and I guess it’s safe to say that about 80% of the people there are paler than me. would you describe them as white? nope, you wouldn’t. would you describe me, a person from middle Germany as white even though I have darker/tanner skin? yes most definitely, because I’m caucasian. so it’s not about the actual colour of your skin sometimes. same in the dragon age world. Fiona is an elf, she belongs to a minority. no matter how white/pale her skin tone she isn‘t “white” in the matter of “white people”. the “bioware fucked up” part I’m guessing is related to the choice to give Alistair no elven features whatsover and when asked about it saying “half-elves look like humans” (which is bullshit if you ask me). so yes, it’s more about Alistair being biracial that we wouldn’t describe him as white.
Well yeah thats kind of what Im saying. It should also be noted that the game came out before the books so Im guessing they didnt originally have Fiona as Alistairs mother. Shame really because half elves are still a thing in DA2 so I wish they at least did something about Alistair.
